Name: Holger Stenzhorn

Message: I have been using Java and NetBeans for many years and have always been amazed by all the community-created and -supported tools that simplify my work. By contributing to NetBeans I want to give something back and show my appreciation.
Name: Doug McNeil
Country: Canada
Message: I'm a 7 Year NetBeans user and plugin writer. OSS when it works is great...and keeping it working requires involvement! So get involved! When not programming or otherwise involved with software development I'm out dirt biking, canoeing or skiing.
Name: Aurelian Tutuianu
Country: Romania
Message: NetBeans have a special place in my heart. I used it since Forte for Java 3.0 CE. I am still amazed about the pace and values of open source software. This is not my first contribution to the NetBeans great community and for sure will not be the last. A small payback to the community as a sign of attachment and esteem.

Plugin verifiers

There are many plugins in the NetBeans Plugin Portal but only verified ones get published on the NetBeans Update Center. This certification is fully in hands of the following kind individuals from NetBeans community.

Message: Open Source software development is art: Inspiration is not enough, you need great tools too.

I'm proud to help NetBeans.

NetCAT testers

Everyone likes new features, right? We believe though that quality is also a feature. However, can you imagine how hard it is to make sure that not only new features are stable but also quality of the existing functionality does not regress? That's why we introduced a beta testing program called NetCAT in 2004. Over the years more than 600 volunteers took part in this community testing effort and helped us with stabilization of development builds. NetCAT programs are now necessary part of every release cycle because nothing really compares to a feedback from real users of a product received soon enough to be addressed before shipping the product.
NetCAT 3.6 (40 testers)
NetCAT 4.0 (60 testers)
NetCAT 4.1 (60 testers)
NetCAT 5.0 (150 testers)
NetCAT 6.0 (60 testers)
NetCAT 6.5 (60 testers)
NetCAT 6.7 (90 testers)
NetCAT 6.8 (90 testers)
NetCAT 6.9 (60 testers)

NetFIX developers

There are not only good testers in the NetBeans community. Some people prefer contributing code and for this kind of individuals there is a NetFIX program since 2009. NetFIX team consists of developers who simply query NetBeans Bugzilla for sympathetic bugs, fix them locally, and provide patches. Isn't that lovely?
NetFIX 6.7 (4 developers)
NetFIX 6.8 (9 developers)
NetFIX 6.9 (15 developers)

Dream Team

NetBeans community is really big hence it is obvious that there are not only "ordinary" users but also people who want to give something in return. However, size, nature, quality and frequency differs. In January 2007 we created a group of community members whose contributions were clearly outstanding and we called it a NetBeans Dream Team. Right now the team consists of ~30 passionate NetBeans supporters who help NetBeans project in many ways. They speak about NetBeans on conferences, write books or blog about NetBeans, support developers on public mailing lists, many of DreamTeam members are consultants thanks to their deep understanding of NetBeans RCP. They are true NetBeans evangelists directly supporting NetBeans adoption. For their on-going activity they are well known among the community and often get recognized by being elected to NetBeans Governance Board.
