NetBeans connects developers! Benefit from the NetBeans
IDE's unique integration of teamwork and project management tools.
Integrated Issue Tracker
Use the NetBeans IDE with projects hosted on java.net to take
advantage of automatic repository set-up, or configure it to use your
own Jira or BugZilla repository.
The user-friendly integration between version control systems
and issue trackers allows you to commit code changes, and update the
associated issue status in one step. Create new issues and edit
existing issues; sort and filter issues and save queries; create
patches and add attachments — all from inside the IDE.
The Jira and Bugzilla issue trackers are well integrated
into the NetBeans task list and it's easy to submit work logs for an
issue. The Jira plugin is downloaded automatically when you use any
Jira feature for the first time.

Integrated File Version Control
The NetBeans IDE makes accessing Git, Mercurial, Subversion, or CVS repositories easy. The editor uses color coding to highlight
added/deleted/modified lines. Use the diff viewer to resolve merge
conflicts in an intuitive way. Integrated version control access to
such sites as java.net and netbeans.org,
is pre-configured: When you get sources for projects hosted on
java.net,
for example, they open right in the IDE.
Note: CVS is
available as a plugin through the NetBeans Update Center.
Integrated Issue/Editor Navigation
Not only do you navigate easily between issues, but also
between the editor and the issue tracker: Click a stacktrace attached
to an issue to jump directly to the affected line in the source code.
Apply patches attached to issues directly to the file in
question. Open the issue by clicking any reference in the IDE: The
reference can be in the source code or comments, in versioning
annotations, in a commit message, etc.

Access to Project Hosting and Management
The NetBeans IDE is well integrated with java.net, a collaborative environment for
open-source projects. With java.net and the NetBeans IDE, a team of
developers is able to check out, edit, debug, discuss, and commit code,
all through one easy-to-use interface.
To set up the server connection to java.net, install the Team
Server plugin from the NetBeans Update Center.

Developer Collaboration
Invite team members and keep in touch: Chat rooms and
presence service for project members are all smoothly
integrated into the IDE. You can also search for and join other
java.net projects from the IDE's Team window.
Note: XMPP connection to
java.net not yet available within the IDE.

Instant Messaging and Online Presence
Check online status of team members and start a private chat
with other users where ever their names appear in the IDE: In the
Team dashboard, issue reports, file version history or annotations.
It's easy to add links to code, files, issues, and stack traces for
shared projects to chat messages. The project chat room also keeps you
informed by showing auto notifications for changed files and issues.
Note: XMPP connection to
java.net not yet available within the IDE.
